| For students pursuing business
studies but obstructed by the evil claws of poverty, government
at its anvil has business school grants. The business schools
award some of these grants while others are provided through
the federal government. There are many school grants being awarded
by the federal government under the respective categories- Federal
Pell Grant as well as Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity
Grant.
Availability of these grants depends at the time you apply,
level of your need as well as many other factors. Only undergraduate
students are eligible for the federal grants. Many of the
business schools also give grants to students who are in the
need of the same. These school-based grants are available
for both the undergraduate students as well as MBAs. Many
of these grants are provided on first come, first serve basis.
Around 70 per cent of the financial aid is delivered by the
United States Department of Education Federal Student Aid
Program. To apply for the same, the first step required by
you is filling up the application form known as the FAFSA
(Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This form should
be filled with great earnest and fast as it is this form that
would show your eligibility for the grants from whichever
source you are applying: state, federal, local, and college
scholarships.
It requires 180 minutes to fill the whole form. The form
can be collected either from school or FAFSA online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
You should prefer filling the form online. The FAFSA website
also has a superb help section giving step-by-step directions
for making you fill the form.
With the form, you would need to deposit documents like your
identification proof, any of your earning records like income
tax returns, bank statements, and investment records etc.
Dependent children have to submit their parents documents.
The form should be filled very accurately and properly. At
the FAFSA website, there is a provision for you to verify
your dependency state helping students to know if it is necessary
for them to provide parental information in the FAFSA.
It is a legally implied rule that any student convicted on
charges of possessing or selling illegal drugs will be devoid
and ineligible for the grant or any student convicted at the
time of receiving of federal student grant aid will also be
deprived of the same. But at the same time, if you have been
convicted in the past but now you are sincerely pursuing your
studies, nothing can stop you from making your claim for grants,
loans or any other aid especially meant for you.
