Consumers urged to check lending criteria before applying for loan

According to sources, companies such as the RBS, MBNA and Barclaycard are not clear about their lending criteria and those thinking of borrowing should check it out.

An example is that in order to be accepted for the Barclays Platinum Credit Card, an individual must have a good credit rating, history of making payments on time, no court judgments and should never have filed for bankruptcy.

Those that do not think about their applications may find that their credit records may contain a number of failed attempts to secure credit.

As well as the platinum account, Barclaycard also offers the Barclaycard Simplicity Credit Card, Barclaycard Goldfish Credit Card and the Barclaycard Gold Credit Card.
